schwinn-m3-jogging-strollerA Schwinn Jogging Stroller is one of the many different brands and manufacturers of strollers for training. Known best for their high quality bicycles and performance standards, it is no surprise that they deliver a product that meets and surpasses a lot of runner’s standards for training and getting in shape with their children. A company founded in 1895, Schwinn is one of the most trusted names and has a long standing fan base of people who use, love, and recommend their products. Now a division of Dorel Industries, Dorel is one of the leading manufacturers which also owns well known brands such as Cosco and InSTEP.

The Schwinn brand delivers two main types of strollers: one with a fixed wheel, and one with a swivel wheel. They come in both single models for holding one child as well as a twin double model to safely accommodate two of your precious little passengers. Both the Schwinn Single Jogging Stroller and the Schwinn Double Jogging Stroller are high quality products that come in a few different models for parents to choose exactly what they want and need based on their intended use and individual needs and preferences.

The Fixed Wheel types offer a large wheel in the front that makes it ideal for those who are serious about running and enjoy running on flat level and smooth surfaces that do not have a lot of sharp twists, turns, or bends in the course. It is perfect for training on a track or in some residential areas that have jogging paths. With these types, you can get the ideal pace you want to maintain while running and see an improved performance in speed. The disadvantage to these types is that they should be used exclusively for exercising or training activities – trying to maneuver or steer one around a shopping mall or busy park might be a challenge for some.

Flexible or swivel wheel types can give you a solid option for a stroller you can use both while exercising or when taking the kids to an outing. To some parents being able to use the same Schwinn stroller doesn’t just save them the expensive of buying two different types, but it can also help kids feel more comfortable in it, since they don’t have to make the transition from one type to another or develop a preference for one or the other. (If you’ve ever had an opinionated two year old, you know how some might decide they like one over the other and the tantrum that can ensue!)

All of their strollers that we have seen and tried out offer a five point safety harness, which is great for knowing your children are safely buckled in and won’t try to jump out or manage to squirm out of the seat mid-jog. An adjustable handle makes it wonderful for parents to adjust the stroller to the best position to make it comfortable for them. Their models also come with under the seat storage for storing all those things you need to take around with you when you have kids, such as diapers, snacks, wipes, and drinks.

The frames are all made out of a lightweight aluminum, which means though while it is somewhat bulky when folded as most kid buggies are, it is still easy to transport from in and out of the car if you are traveling with it.

Many of the products the company manufacturers also come with many safety features such as braking systems, hand leashes, and a durable fabric liner that is easy to clean as well as helps shade children from bright sun conditions. (Though you’ll still want to use sunscreen just to be on the safe side!)

If you’re looking for a specific model, here are some of the most popular ones:

Schwinn M3 Single Jogger Stroller: The Schwinn M3 Jogging Stroller is a popular make and model but can be difficult to find new and so it is unknown if they are even still in production. It featured a fixed wheel design, and it seems to have been replaced by the somewhat sleeker, readily available fixed wheel Schwinn Free Runner LT.

Schwinn Free Runner Series: The free runner series is ideal for parents who are looking to train and improve their running performance with the children, as it offers a fixed wheel. There is a single model as well as a double one available. Learn More & Read Reviews

Schwinn Free Wheeler Jogging Stroller: As you might expect from it’s name, this is the model which features a swivel wheel for more versatility in use. Available in both single and double stroller models, it is a great choice for parents who want to use it not only for exercising and working out, but also for daily use such as shopping. If you can’t find one by Schwinn, you may also want to consider the InSTEP Safari model, which is nearly identical. Learn More & Read Reviews

Schwinn Safari Jogging Stroller: The Safari is available in both the single and double models and offers a 12 inch front swivel wheel with 16 inch rear wheels. See ore & Read Reviews

If you’re considering one of these models, you’ll be happy to know they are also rather affordable, priced comparably with many other types. We were able to find them for as low as under $150 on sites such as Amazon.com. You might also be interested in Dorel’s InSTEP series which is very comparable.
